Tigers Activate OF Wenceel Perez from Injured List

Perez Returns to Boost Tigers Outfield Depth

The Detroit Tigers have activated outfielder Wenceel Perez from the injured list, the team announced on Wednesday. Perez has been sidelined since June 15th with a right shoulder impingement.

Perez was acquired by the Tigers from the Chicago Cubs in a trade for cash considerations on May 18th. The 26-year-old has appeared in 30 games for Detroit this season, batting .282 with 2 home runs and 11 RBI.

Perez Provides Versatility and Experience

Perez is a versatile outfielder who can play all three positions. He has also seen time at second base and shortstop in his career.

Perez's return gives the Tigers some much-needed depth in the outfield. The team has been without several key outfielders this season due to injuries, including Robbie Grossman, Austin Meadows, and Akil Baddoo.

Perez Expected to Contribute Immediately

Perez is expected to be in the starting lineup on Wednesday night when the Tigers host the Chicago White Sox.

The Tigers are hoping that Perez can provide a spark to their offense. The team has struggled to score runs this season, ranking near the bottom of the league in several offensive categories.
