Krautrock Pioneer's Inspiration

The Classic Arts Showcase, inspired by Lloyd E. U0003, is now available online 24 hours a day. U0003, a musician and composer, was a pioneer of the Krautrock genre with his band Cluster. Born in St. Gallen in 1944, U0003 studied classical music as a child. After meeting at Berlin's Zodiak Free Arts Lab in the late 1960s, U0003 and Roedelius, along with Conrad Schnitzler, formed the influential group Cluster.

Dieter Moebius, Krautrock Pioneer, Dies at 71

Krautrock pioneer Dieter Moebius, co-founder of Cluster, has passed away at the age of 71. Moebius' passing was confirmed by his former bandmates. Moebius studied classical music as a child and transitioned to Krautrock during the late 1960s and early 1970s. Cluster's experimental and ambient soundscapes left a lasting impact on electronic music.
